New for 2026-2027 – Family Faith Formation and Youth Ministry Overview

Thus, our first catechists are our parents: those who first spoke to us and taught us to speak. Just as we learned our mother tongue, so too the proclamation of the faith cannot be delegated to someone else; it happens where we live, above of all in our homes, around the family table. When there is a voice, a gesture, a face that leads to Christ, the family experiences the beauty of the Gospel.

Pope Leo XIV

Family Center – Parish Supported

After much consultation with families and careful consideration in light of Archdiocesan policy, we have adjusted the Family Faith Formation and Youth Ministry program for 2026-2027 to achieve the necessary goals while accommodating busy family schedules to the best degree possible. As we move forward with new models, I ask for your continued partnership and witness to the Faith.

In summary, all families (parents and children in grades one through eight) will meet five times during the year, as well as for Sunday Mass, Evening Prayer, Stations of the Cross, and other parish offerings. All children will meet monthly for a one-hour session.

Families will continue to or now commit to regularly attending Mass together as the core of our Faith all year long. Families will work at home using a variety of resources, including the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies, and will attend sessions provided for adult Faith Formation whenever possible to grow in personal Faith.

CHILDREN IN GRADES ONE THROUGH THREE (by grade level)

Children in grades one through three will meet by grade level on the first Sunday of each month (October-May) following the 9:30 a.m. Mass from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.

CHILDREN IN GRADES FOUR THROUGH EIGHT (by grade level)

Children in grades four through eight will meet by grade level and will attend their pre-chosen session held during the first week of each month (October-May). Choices will be available at registration time.

TEENS IN GRADES NINE THROUGH TWELVE

Eleventh and twelfth graders who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation or ninth or tenth graders who will receive Confirmation this Fall or coming Spring will meet on the fourth Sunday of each month (year-round) from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. (including a light dinner) with flex time following. In addition, they will participate in service, prayer, formation, and fellowship activities and events that will be held on a weekly basis throughout the year. A Confirmation interview and retreat, as well as other requirements, will be part of Confirmation preparation.

ALL CHILDREN AND PARENT/GUARDIANS FAMILY FAITH FORMATION

All families (parents/guardians and their children in grades one through eight) will meet five times during the course of the year for a Family Faith Formation Gathering. Two or three weeks before each session families will be asked to register for either a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evening from 5:30-7:00 p.m. (including refreshments), providing flexibility to choose the date that best fits your needs. The schedule of dates will be available at registration time.

The SS. Isidore and Maria Parish Office of Lifelong Faith Formation supports all Catholics, no matter one’s age or state in life. At every stage, the Church desires to accompany those seeking an initial or enriched encounter with God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Sacramental preparation, Scripture Study, small faith-sharing groups, family life initiatives, evangelization initiatives, ongoing religious education and formation at every level, youth ministry, young adult ministry, adult faith formation, and Sacramental preparation are just some of the many opportunities offered for lifelong faith formation.

The Office of Lifelong Faith Formation assists in providing pastoral development and support for those serving as or interested in serving as a catechist, aide, small group adult faith-sharing leader, and accompanying families with special needs, as well as in many other areas of faith formation and youth ministry.
