We are invited to submit our hearts to Christ with ever deeper love.
The origin and foundation of Christian Baptism is Jesus. Before starting his public ministry, Jesus submitted himself to the baptism given by John the Baptist. The waters did not purify him; he cleansed the waters… Jesus did not need to be baptized because he was totally faithful to the will of his Father and free from sin.
However, he wanted to show his solidarity with human beings in order to reconcile them to the Father. By commanding his disciples to baptize all nations, he established the means by which people would die to sin — Original and actual — and begin to live a new life with God.

What do I need to do to have my child baptized?
STEP 1: Contact Ted Musco at the Office of Lifelong Faith Formation at 860-633-9419 or email by clicking here.
STEP 2: Complete the Baptism Application, Requirement for a Sponsor of Baptism Form, and the Godparent Affirmation Form to be sent by Mr. Musco after initial contact.
STEP 3: Schedule and attend an in-person baptismal preparation session.* This is required of all parents and godparents.**
*Alternate plans will be made if godparents live a distance from the parish.
**There are exemptions for second-child baptisms. Please contact the Office of Lifelong Faith Formation for details.
In-person preparation sessions are offered by our parish on a regular basis, and examine the role of Baptism in God’s plan for salvation, the beauty of the Rite of Baptism, your own calling to share in the mission of Christ to which all the baptized are called, and ample time for discussion followed by a short video series will be completed at home.
