“Music should assist the assembled believers to express and share the gift of faith that is within them.”

Purpose

  • The Music Ministry serves the prayer of the Church by leading and supporting the sung worship of the parish. Through the work of singers, instrumentalists, cantors, choir members, and music ministers of all ages, we seek to foster full, conscious, and active participation in the Sacred Liturgy.
  • Our ministry provides music for weekend Masses, weddings, funerals, solemnities, feast days, parish celebrations, concerts, recitals, and other prayerful gatherings. We strive to offer music that is prayerful, beautiful, accessible, and worthy of the liturgy, while welcoming parishioners with a wide range of musical backgrounds and experience.
  • Adults, young adults, teens, children, singers, instrumentalists, and those who simply love sacred music are warmly invited to participate.

Current Opportunities

  • Gallery Choir – The Gallery Choir provides music for select weekend Masses, major feasts, and parish celebrations. This ensemble sings a wide variety of sacred choral repertoire and supports the musical life of the parish throughout the school year.
  • Chamber Schola – The Chamber Schola provides high-quality music for select parish events. This ensemble is audition-only and includes a mix of professional singers and advanced parishioners. Please contact Tyme if you would like to audition.
  • Youth and Teen Choir – Children and teens are invited to participate in the musical life of the parish through singing, instrumental music, and special liturgical celebrations throughout the year. Youth musicians help lead music for key parish liturgies, including Christmas, Lessons and Carols, Easter, and other major celebrations.
  • Youth and Teen Orchestra/Parish Orchestra – Instrumentalists of all ages are welcome to share their gifts with the parish. Students and adults who play strings, winds, brass, percussion, piano, guitar, or other instruments may be invited to play preludes, special music, ensemble pieces, or music for parish liturgies and events as appropriate.
  • Cantors – Cantors help lead the assembly in sung prayer at Mass. This ministry is open to singers who are comfortable leading congregational song and proclaiming the Responsorial Psalm and other sung parts of the liturgy. Our cantor ministry includes a healthy mix of professional and volunteer cantors. If you are interested in cantoring, please contact Tyme.
  • Concerts, Recitals, and Special Musical Events – The Music Ministry also supports the broader cultural and spiritual life of the parish through concerts, recitals, Lessons and Carols, seasonal programs, and other special musical offerings.Participate in weekend Masses and other liturgical celebrations as needed; attend scheduled rehearsals for singers and instrumentalists; share the joy of Christ in music and fellowship.

Activities

  • Music ministers may participate in weekend Masses, Holy Days, weddings, funerals, concerts, recitals, rehearsals, youth music events, and other parish celebrations as needed. Members are asked to attend scheduled rehearsals and to share their gifts in a spirit of prayer, service, hospitality, and fellowship.

Time Commitment

  • Time commitment varies by ensemble and role. Most participants can expect approximately 1–4 hours per week, depending on rehearsal schedules, liturgies, and special events.
